About
The Theological Seminary of the Adventist University of Africa (AUA) invites scholars, researchers, theologians, and postgraduate students to submit papers for its 6th Research Conference on the theme: “Seventh-day Adventism in Africa: Historical, Theological, and Missiological Perspectives.”
Why this conference?
This conference seeks to explore the historical development, theological expressions, and missiological engagements of the Seventh-day Adventist Church within the African context. It aims to nurture scholarly dialogue on the multifaceted interactions between Adventism and African societies, cultures, and religions, as well as to critically assess the church’s role in shaping faith and practice across the continent. The objectives of the conference are to:
- Trace the origins, expansion, and institutional development of Seventh-day Adventism across Africa.
- Examine how theology and mission have shaped Adventist identity and practice within African contexts.
- Assess Adventism’s interaction with African social, political, and cultural realities, including issues of justice, education, and health.
- Promote the development of contextual and indigenous African Adventist theologies.
- Evaluate Adventism’s encounters and relationships with African Traditional Religions, Islam, and other Christian traditions.
