Governance

AUA’s governance is by the University Council. The Council works with sub-committees such as:

    • Academic Committee
    • Audit Review Committee
    • Finance, Investment and Compensation Review Committee
    • Ministerial and Theological Education Committee, etc.

The Council is comprised of 20 members.

Members of the Council

Chairperson: General Vice President of General Conference (GC)

Secretary: Vice-Chancellor of the University

    • Four persons appointed by the Sponsor as follows:
      • the Associate Treasurer of GC assigned to the territory;
      • the Associate Secretary of GC assigned to the territory;
      • the Director of Education, GC;
      • the Associate Director of Education, GC in charge of Africa assigned to the University.
    • Two Presidents from the Supporting Divisions;
    • Chief Financial Officer of each Supporting Divisions;
    • Chief Educational Officer of each Supporting Division;
    • Ministerial Secretary of each Supporting Divisions;
    • One Union President is chosen from one of the Supporting Divisions;
    • One Vice-Chancellor is chosen from one of the Supporting Divisions;
    • One other person from one of the Supporting Divisions who is not an employee of the Church.
