Mason – Contract Employment Opportunity
Adventist University of Africa (AUA) wishes to recruit a mason on a contract basis to work in the Physical Plant Department.

provide postgraduate education.
Position Summary
The role of the mason is to ensure that the buildings at AUA remain structurally sound, pose no avoidable safety hazards and maintain an aesthetically appealing look. The mason must pay keen attention to detail, report any developments that are a safety hazard, and employ all skills towards making continuous improvement on all structures at AUA.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out preventive maintenance on all masonry installations (buildings, roads, walkways, pavements, etc.)
- Carrying out repair work on all masonry installations (buildings, roads, walkways, pavements, etc).
- Supporting all construction work at AUA.
- Maintaining an accurate written record of observations on all physical facilities at AUA.
- Maintaining tools and work spaces.
- Advising the Physical Plant Manager on masonry matters.
- Training apprentices.
- Undertaking any other duties as may be assigned by the Physical Plant Manager.
Qualifications
- At least three years’ work experience in a similar position required.
- Minimum of Trade Test 1 certification in building and construction.
- Carpentry skills and/or experience will be an added advantage.
