About AUA
Adventist University of Africa (AUA), a chartered University based in Nairobi, Kenya, was established by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists to provide postgraduate education in Biblical and Applied Theology, Leadership, Business Administration, Public Health, and Applied Computer Science. The University seeks to deliver outstanding postgraduate education from a Biblical foundation to prepare competent leaders to serve the Church and society in a Christ-like manner.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- An earned PhD degree in Public Health or a related field from a recognised and accredited university.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the university level and have a track record of relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
- Have a minimum academic rank of a senior lecturer with a track record of successful student research supervision.
- Have leadership and team management skills and be able to work in a multi-cultural setting.
- A background in Epidemiology will be an added advantage.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop content and teach courses in a doctoral and master’s degree program.
- Supervise student research at both master’s and doctoral levels.
- Collaborate with the program leader and subject matter experts to design and upgrade an effective curriculum in the field of public health.
- Research and publish in relevant journals and conferences.
- Engage in relevant community service.
- Engage and contribute significantly to the operation and growth of the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPS).
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in public health.
