Adventist University of Africa is looking for a suitable candidate for the position of a professor in leadership at the School of Postgraduate Studies, Department of Social Sciences.
About AUA
Adventist University of Africa (AUA), a chartered University based in Nairobi, Kenya, was established by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists to provide postgraduate education in Biblical and Applied Theology, Leadership, Business Administration, Public Health, and Applied Computer Science. The University seeks to deliver outstanding postgraduate education from a Biblical foundation to prepare competent leaders to serve the Church and society in a Christ-like manner.
Qualifications and Skills Required
The candidate must hold a PhD in Leadership or a related field and have a proven track record in research and publications. He/she must be able to work with students and faculty from diverse cultures within an international setting. Active participation in international research networks will be an added advantage.
Required Work Experience
The applicant should have at least three years of teaching experience at the university level in relevant areas and must have published not less than 5 articles in refereed journals. Supervision at the postgraduate level and publications of book chapters or university-level textbooks will be an added advantage.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
As a postgraduate level lecturer, the candidate will be expected to:

- Teach courses in the area of Leadership as per the teaching load policy.

- Supervise students’ research activities at the Master’s and PhD levels.

- Undertake quality individual and collaborative research projects leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals.

- Develop research proposals for external funding.

- Carry out administrative tasks related to teaching and departmental activities.

- Contribute to the growth of professionals in his/her field of expertise.

- Participate in students’ mentoring activities.

- Participate and contribute to the spiritual life of the campus as per the spiritual master plan.
