15th Graduation & Installation Ceremony

The Adventist University of Africa (AUA) joyfully announces its 15th Graduation Ceremony and the Installation of Professor Ademola S. Tayo as the 4th Vice-Chancellor, a historic occasion that celebrates academic excellence, spiritual growth, and visionary leadership. This three-day event will bring together distinguished guests, faculty, alumni, families, and friends of the University to honour the graduating Class of 2026 and welcome a new era of leadership.
🎓 Graduation Theme & Class Identity
The Class of 2026 embodies the theme “Rooted in Christ, Empowered for Service,” reflecting AUA’s mission of nurturing Christ-centred leaders for transformative impact. Their class motto, “Truth, Service, Eternity,” underscores the values guiding their journey. With class colours Regal Blue (symbolising wisdom, trust, and excellence) and Celestial Grey (representing balance, maturity, and modern sophistication), the Eagle Class of 2026 stands ready to soar into new horizons of service and leadership.
🙏 Consecration Service – June 26, 2026
The celebration begins with the Consecration Service at 7:00 p.m. in the Simeon Nyachae Auditorium. Guest Speaker Dr. Jongimpi Papu, Associate Ministerial Secretary of the General Conference and Editor of Ministry Magazine, will deliver the sermon. This sacred gathering sets the spiritual tone, dedicating graduates to a life of service rooted in faith.
📖 Baccalaureate Service – June 27, 2026
On Sabbath morning at 9:00 a.m., Dr. Moses Maka, Executive Secretary of the East-Central Africa Division, will inspire graduates and guests during the Baccalaureate Service. This worship experience highlights the spiritual foundation of Adventist education and prepares graduates for their mission in the Church and society.
🎤 Installation Service – June 28, 2026
The highlight of the weekend is the Installation Service at 9:00 a.m., where Professor Ademola S. Tayo will be formally installed as AUA’s 4th Vice-Chancellor. The Guest Speaker, Dr. Beatrice Muganda Inyangala, Principal Secretary for Higher Education and Research, Ministry of Education, Kenya, will address the assembly.
🎤 Commencement Service – June 28, 2026
Immediately following, at 10:30 a.m., the Commencement Service will celebrate the achievements of the graduating class. Dr. Robert Osei-Bonsu, General Vice-President of the General Conference and Chair of AUA’s University Council, will deliver the commencement address. His message will affirm the graduates’ calling to lead with integrity and serve with compassion.
🌍 Honouring Leadership & Legacy
This occasion also honours AUA’s remarkable journey since its founding in 2008. From its first charter in 2013 to its current role as a premier postgraduate institution, AUA has graduated over 1,192 students serving across Africa and beyond. The installation of Professor Tayo marks a new chapter in this legacy. His distinguished career at Babcock University and across Adventist higher education exemplifies visionary leadership, digital transformation, academic innovation, and mission advancement.

Graduation Weekend and Installation Speakers
Jongimpi Papu, PhD
Dr. Jongimpi Papu, Associate Ministerial Secretary of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and Editor of Ministry Magazine, is a respected scholar-practitioner in missiology and church leadership. He holds a PhD in Missiology and a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership, with research focused on contextual theology and sustainable community development. His career spans pastoral ministry, academic teaching, and senior administrative leadership across Africa. Widely published, Dr. Papu’s work bridges scholarship and mission, equipping leaders for effective ministry in diverse cultural settings while advancing authentic African expressions of Christian faith.
Moses Maka, PhD
Pastor Moses Maka Ndimukika is a seasoned minister, theologian, educator, and administrator with over 32 years of service to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He began his ministry as a local and district pastor for ten years, followed by sixteen years in academia, including his long tenure at Bugema University and adjunct teaching at the Adventist University of Africa. For the past six years, he has served in executive leadership. Currently, he serves as Executive Secretary of the East-Central Africa Division. Dr. Maka holds a PhD in Old Testament Theology and is blessed with a family of four children.
Beatrice Muganda Inyangala, PhD, CBS
Dr. Beatrice Muganda Inyangala, Principal Secretary for Higher Education and Research in Kenya’s Ministry of Education, is a distinguished academic and public servant. With extensive experience in university leadership, policy development, and research advancement, she has played a pivotal role in shaping Kenya’s higher education landscape. Her career reflects a commitment to excellence, innovation, and access to quality education. Recognized for her contributions to national and regional educational reforms, Dr. Inyangala continues to inspire institutions and students alike, championing education as a catalyst for societal transformation and sustainable development across Africa.
Robert Osei-Bonsu, PhD
Dr. Robert Osei-Bonsu, General Vice-President of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and Chair of AUA’s University Council, is a Ghanaian theologian, pastor, and educational leader. His ministry began in literature evangelism and expanded into pastoral service, academic teaching, and senior church leadership. He previously served as President of the West-Central Africa Division and held academic roles at Valley View University and AUA, including Dean of the Theological Seminary. Deeply committed to developing leaders rooted in Scripture, Dr. Osei-Bonsu’s career unites scholarship, mission, and service, inspiring graduates to embrace Christ-like leadership across Africa and beyond.
