About AUA

Adventist University of Africa (AUA), a chartered University based in Nairobi, Kenya, was established by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists to provide postgraduate education in Biblical and Applied Theology, Leadership, Business Administration, Public Health, and Applied Computer Science. The University seeks to deliver outstanding postgraduate education from a Biblical foundation to prepare competent leaders to serve the Church and society in a Christ-like manner.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  1. An earned PhD degree in Public Health or a related field from a recognised and accredited university.
  2. Have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the university level and have a track record of relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
  3. Have a minimum academic rank of a senior lecturer with a track record of successful student research supervision.
  4. Have leadership and team management skills and be able to work in a multi-cultural setting.
  5. A background in Epidemiology will be an added advantage.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop content and teach courses in a doctoral and master’s degree program.
  2. Supervise student research at both master’s and doctoral levels.
  3. Collaborate with the program leader and subject matter experts to design and upgrade an effective curriculum in the field of public health.
  4. Research and publish in relevant journals and conferences.
  5. Engage in relevant community service.
  6. Engage and contribute significantly to the operation and growth of the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPS).
  7. Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in public health.
