Driver/Messenger – Contract Employment Opportunity

Adventist University of Africa (AUA) wishes to recruit one Driver/Messenger on a contract basis.

(SDA) Church based in Nairobi, Kenya, established by the General Conference of SDA to
provide postgraduate education.

Position Summary

The driver/messenger will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting individuals, documents and packages to their designated locations. The position requires excellent driving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, customer service skills, flexibility and good communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Safely operating organizational vehicles to transport passengers, goods, or materials to designated locations.
  2. Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  3. Maintaining cleanliness and routine maintenance of the organisation’s vehicles.
  4. Following specific routes or instructions provided by the employer.
  5. Providing excellent customer service, if applicable.
  6. Keeping accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information.
  7. Reporting any vehicle issues or accidents to the appropriate authorities or supervisors.
  8. Occasionally assisting with loading and offloading goods or materials, if required.
  9. Collect/deliver information and packages from predetermined locations and subsequently transport these to the people or destination for which they are intended.
  10. Resolve any delivery-related issues or challenges that may arise during the course of the job.

Qualifications

  1. At least three years’ work experience in a similar position is required.
  2. Minimum required qualification is a Category B drivers’ licence (Former class B-E)
  3. Maintenance skills (especially carpentry), qualifications and/or experience will be an added advantage.
