5th AUA Research Conference

In a most historic event, the Adventist University of Africa conducted its first virtual Research Conference. The International Conference themed “Organizational Performance: Optimizing Effectiveness and Efficiency” was held from 24th to 26th September 2020.

The enlightening Conference attracted presenters and participants from across the globe including Asia, the United States of America and various parts of Africa. Over one hundred registrants were engaged with approximately thirty research papers focusing on various aspects of organizational performance.

Dr. John Wesley Taylor V was among the remarkable keynote speakers. He spoke on research and the search for truth, of how “truth begins with God, not man … and how man must continually grow in knowledge and understanding of truth.” Dr. Taylor serves as an Associate Director of Education at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Other pertinent keynote addresses were given by Dr. Ella Simmons, the AUA University Council Chair and general Vice President of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and Prof. Jackson Too, the Head of Research and Development at the Commission for University Education (CUE) in Kenya.

The Conference was coordinated and convened by the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPS) and sought to open the opportunity to exchange ideas and inspire actions for the concepts of organizational performance against effectiveness and efficiency. It also provided a timely opportunity for the academic community to discuss and explore new ways to enhance organizational performance.

The Conference was not just an academic exercise, but contributed to the organizational performance in the African continent and beyond. The online recordings for all the sessions may be viewed on 5th AUA Research Conference recordings.
