Sustainable Development Goals: Transforming Africa

David Williams, keynote speaker at the Research Conference

An intensely exciting and meaningful international occasion took place over the past weekend at the Adventist University of Africa. It was the 4th Annual Research Conference by the School of Postgraduate Studies held from 13th to 15th September 2018. The Conference theme “Sustainability Development Goals (SDG): Transforming Africa” was considerably researched, applied and presented by over 50 researchers.

Who would have known that such a topic could be made to have such significance to so many people in the Seventh-day Adventist context to the Adventist and non-Adventist attendees? The seventeen international goals were so appreciably dissected over the three-day conference.

Further, the special featured guests: Dr. David Williams, US, and Dr. Anne Nangulu, Kenya, Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA) Africa and other devotional speakers were exceptional. Practical, sound, well-researched data and its application were presented. Renown Dr Williams presented papers on health such as depression, stress, healthy and unhealthy spirituality. He closely linking research data with Scripture and the writings of Ellen White.
