Call for Applications for Faculty Position



The School of Postgraduate Studies of the Adventist University of Africa announces a faculty position in the Leadership program. The successful applicant should be willing to take up the position by January 1, 2019.

Qualifications and Skills Required:
1. An earned PhD in Strategic Leadership or Organizational Leadership.
2. Competent to teach and direct graduate studies and research in Master of Arts (MA) and PhD in Leadership programs.
3. Able to work with students and faculty in a variety of cultures and ethnic backgrounds in an international setting.
4. Ability to combine cross-cultural competencies and critical thinking skills for effective communication.

Required Work Experience:
1. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as Associate Professor in a postgraduate environment coupled with the ability to integrate faith and learning.
2. Loyal to the message and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church evidenced by membership and active involvement in a local church.
3. Preferably ten (10) years full-time university teaching experience, five (5) of which should be at the graduate level.
4. Scholarly presentations and publications (at least 10 academic publications in the discipline).
5. Evidence of Supervision of thesis and dissertation.

1. Teach courses in M. A. and PhD in Leadership of NOT less than 5 courses per year.
2. Advise and/or supervise Master’s and PhD theses and dissertations as would be assigned by Head of Department
3. Serve in thesis and dissertation committees of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
4. Engage in community service as will be called upon from time to time.
5. Perform any other assigned responsibilities of the university.

All applications should be submitted to the Human Resources Office of the University with certified copies of academic qualifications, portfolio detailing academic qualifications, work experience, research and publications, and family data. In addition, three recommendations: two from university administrators and one from a church administrator should accompany the application.
