Rely on Christ - Devotion by Ted Wilson

This morning, Wednesday 26th October 2016, the President of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pastor Ted Wilson, led in the morning devotion at the Adventist University of Africa Auditorium.

Pastor Wilson made reference to 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, behoving the audience to have total reliance on God and complete focus on Him despite the challenges. Why? Because God’s grace is sufficient. He spoke on the devil’s strategies to distract, disappoint, and destabilize the Church’s core purpose of service and mission. He implored the faculty, staff, and students to personally and daily concentrate themselves to God and seek to be humble themselves.

Further, he spoke of AUA’s critical role in providing stability in the theological, spiritual and mission dimensions of the Church through education. He encouraged AUA to stand as a beacon of light not only amidst the Advent Hill community but also to the surrounding region, Kenya, and across Africa.

The President emphasized on total faculty involvement, total staff involvement, and total student involvement. This he spoke in relation to total member involvement, the overarching theme of the Church for this quinquennium, 2016 to 2020. He asked the congregation to prepare people for the Second Advent and to teach others to accept the righteousness of Christ.

Pastor Ted Wilson is visiting the East-Central Africa Division (ECD) for the annual-end year meetings. This event coincides with AUA’s 10 Anniversary Celebration that runs from 28th to 29th October 2016. Pr. Ted and his wife, Nancy, have a lifetime passionate commitment of serving Christ and preparing others for His soon return.
