Programme Specific Admission Requirements

1.    Bachelor’s degree in Theology/Religion with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 4-point scale or its equivalent grade of 60%.  Applicants with a CGPA of 2.5 to 2.99 or 55% to 59% may be accepted on probation.

2.    Two recommendations are required to be completed online: One from the local Church Board and one from your previous university or from the employing organization (conference, Union or Division) if employed.

3.    Demonstrate proficiency in English.

1. 1.    Bachelor’s degree in Theology/Religion with at least 72 credits of theology courses and with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 4-point scale or its equivalent grade of 60%. 2.    Two Recommendations are required to be completed online: One from the local Church Board and one from your previous university or from the employing organization (conference or union or division) if employed.Submit name, email address and designation of your referees, and   AUA admissions will email the link for completing the online recommendation form. The applicant should seek the consent of the referee before submitting their details.3.    Demonstrate proficiency in English.4.    Applicants to the MABTS need to demonstrate their proficiency in Hebrew and Greek Grammar completed not more than 3 years ago by means of presenting an official transcript or by challenging the exams. If not, the applicant will take Hebrew and Greek Grammars as prerequisite courses.

3.    Previous work experience in leadership is highly desirable.

5.    Demonstrate proficiency in English.

1.    Have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 4-point scale or its equivalent grade of 60%.  Applicants with a CGPA of 2.5 to 2.99 or 55% to 59% may be accepted on probation.2.    Have at least two years of post-graduation relevant work experience. Students who lack work experience will be required to undertake on-the-job training through internship/practicum for at least 12 weeks (480 clock hours) in a reputable organisation after completion of the first two semesters;3.    Submit a written personal Statement of Purpose explaining why he/she wants to take an MBA at AUA.4.    Those with bachelor’s degrees other than Business Administration must take the following 12 credits of undergraduate courses or equivalents as prerequisites and earn a minimum grade of C:

a.   Principles of Accounting

b.   Business Statistics

c.   Business Economics

     Human Anatomy and Physiology/Human Biology (3 Credits)

1.    Applicants of MSc in Applied Computer Science must have a first degree in computer science or related fields (Information Technology, Information Systems, and relevant Engineering degrees) from a recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 4-point scale or its equivalent grade of 60%.  Applicants with a CGPA of 2.5 to 2.99 or 55% to 59% may be accepted on probation.

3.    Applicants to this programme must have taken the following at the undergraduate level:

  • Algorithms and Data Structures
  • Operating Systems
  • Object-Oriented Programming
  • Databases
  • Computer Architecture

4.    Demonstrate proficiency in English.

1.    Have a Master’s degree in Ministry or Theology, with a minimum GPA of 3.33.on a 4-point scale or 60% grade average. Applicants with a CGPA of 3.0 and 3.32 may be admitted on probationary. After completing one session the student must obtain a GPA of 3.33 to gain regular admission status

 

2.    Have a minimum of 84 credit hours of Religion/Theology at the undergraduate level. Applicants may be required to take an appropriate number of prerequisites according to their choice of specialization in DMin. as shall be determined by the Seminary Admissions Committee.

 

3.    Be active in professional ministry for at least 2 – 4 years and demonstrate aptitude and commitment for the gospel ministry.

 

4.    Be ordained or commissioned to the gospel ministry (limited exceptions could be considered).

 

5.    Three recommendations are required to be completed online. One from the local Church Board and one from your previous university and from the employing organization (Conference, Union or Division). Submit the name, email address and designation of your referees, and  AUA Admissions will email the link for completing the online recommendation form. The applicant should seek the consent of the referees before submitting their details.

 

6.    Submit a paper (2-4 pages) that provides an applicant’s objectives in seeking the degree.

 

7.    Have successfully completed a course equivalent to GSEM 607 Documentary Research and Writing.

 

8.    Applicants are to submit their Master’s Thesis/Project or its equivalent. Those applicants who did not do a Thesis/Project on a Master’s level must submit a major paper (approximately 50 pages) showing the applicant’s research competencies.

 

9.    Must demonstrate proficiency in English.

1.    A Master’s degree in Theology/Religion or equivalent with a minimum of 42-semester credits and a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.33 on a 4-point scale or 60% grade average. In some cases, selected core courses may be required as programme prerequisites or bridging courses.

 

2.    Successful completion of at least six (6) credits of coursework in research at the post-graduate level. This requirement is in addition to the completed and accepted thesis/project done at the post-graduate level.

 

3.    Present proof of having successfully taken Intermediate Biblical Hebrew and Greek grammar and syntax in the Master's transcript during a maximum period of six (6) years prior to applying to the PhD programme. Alternatively, the applicant must demonstrate proficiency in Biblical Hebrew and Greek languages either by challenge examinations or by taking courses in Hebrew and Greek languages as prerequisites.

 

4.    A minimum of 4-full years of relevant work/Church ministry experience.

 

5.    A statement of purpose, career goals and commitment to academic excellence is required.

7.    Applicants with other degrees in Religious Studies/Religion/Theology (such as the MA in Pastoral Theology or Pastoral Studies and their equivalents) shall be required to take an appropriate number of prerequisites, as shall be determined by the PhD programme Committee.

 

8.    In case the previous university did not require a written thesis for the master’s programme, the applicant must demonstrate research and writing abilities by presenting an acceptable 80-page research paper as a thesis equivalent.

1.     A Master’s degree in Leadership or its equivalent with and a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.33 (on a 4-point system). Applicants with a CGPA of 3.00 -3.32 may be admitted on probation status and take classes in the PhD Leadership programme. After one session, if the student’s CGPA is 3.33 or above, they will be regularized; if the CGPA is less than 3.33, the student will have to discontinue the programme due to academic deficiency.2.     Three recommendations are required to be completed online: One from a religious leader and one from your previous university and one from your employing organization.
