An essential goal of the Office of Research and Grants Development is to identify and disseminate information on potential grants that match the University’s research priorities.
AUA offers Research Funds to stimulate and support faculty research projects. AUA encourages faculty and staff to seek external funding for research projects and activities that match the university’s research priorities. In addition, the office is mandated to conduct capacity building on grant writing skills for staff.
Institutional Research
- AUA was awarded a cumulative amount of US$ 51,500 by the General Conference Health Ministries, the Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research (ASTR), Southern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, USA, East-Central Africa Division, Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division, and the West-Central Africa Division of Seventh-day Adventists to conduct the first phase of the African Seventh-day Adventist Health Study.

- AUA has received a US$72,710 grant from Loma Linda University (Grants for Research and School Partnerships International) for a research project entitled, “Families, Schools and Community Engaged Together (FASCET): A Community Resiliency Model (CRM) Based Family Resiliency Program for 5th Grade Students in North Kivu Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.”

- AUA has received external funds from the three Seventh-day Adventist Divisions in Africa for an institutional research project entitled “Evangelism Strategies, Conversion Patterns, and Membership Retention Strategies in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sub-Saharan Africa.“
